Not sure of the best way to explain, but here goes. When you use a golden rod or come along to stretch your first wire as a line up aid, I generally leave the stretcher on the wire until I get the brace posts and line posts in. that way if you need to move the wire it isn't already tied off permanently. That being said, you need to make sure that your stretcher isn't causing the wire to be pulled towards the center of the corner post or you will get out of line by a couple of inches. It will show. I generally drive a stake or post to keep the wire more in line with the edge of the corner post that all wires will be attached to. Clear as mud?
