Subject: RE: Weed resistance...Horseweed (aka marestail)

The low vs. high rates of glyphosate debate comes about because some feel that lower rates cause those tolerant weeds to multiply and the increase the chances of that resistant biotype propagating with another tolerant biotype and eventually becoming the dominant species In the real world world what really is the difference between true resistance or weed that is tolerant to say a 5x rate of a chemical? Either way you will have to change the way you treat these weeds, I will make prediction that five years down the road we will use glyphosate on all corn and soybeans but only as and addition to our normal herbicide program (much like atrazine in corn presently).
