Wind coverage has two parts. Greensnap and/or wind coverage. Greensnap can be adjusted after the storm or later. If its broke off they pay. 15% snapped off, 15% loss. Subtract the deductible and multiply the loss times your dollars of coverage. Very simple. Wind loss is determined by unrecoverable ears after harvest. Count the ears that were not harvested. If the count exceeds the deductible then you have a loss and the percentage will be multiplied times your coverage per acre to determine your payment.
Neither of these coverages provide true yield protection.
