North Central Ohio, across the Corn belt !

bucknutII - 11/15/2011 09:47 I have used litter on wheat in the fall with excellent results. It is the greenest wheat around. Problem is all the N is gone or very slow to convert over in the spring so you need to topdress a full rate of N. Have tried to topdress the wheat in the spring with litter with mixed results. The N in litter is so hard to guess the amount available to the wheat crop. The wheat is either flat or yellow! I dont recommend it in the spring.

the N in the Litter will become available AFTER the wheat is harvested.

Just in time for a cover crop or double crop.
