middle TN | I wouldn't think you would need near that size mixer. I have the smallest twin-auger Knight, I think around 350 cu.ft. I can mix 2 4x4s of grass or sorghum sudan. Doing that does take a little time and forethought, as you can't put them both in at the same time. I let it cut one bale for a few minutes, add the second bale, then grain and last any syrup or very wet feed such as brewers grain. I can mix three 4x4s of baleage, but it does take a while to process if it is very long stemmed. The wetter silage is not going to take near the space as the dry hay in your case. I would look for a 4-500 ft mixer to do what you want to do, just in case you needed to do bigger bales at some point in the future.
