Subject: RE: milk production up for 20th straight month

Sunnyside, WA
Most are just getting into high feed prices. Clock contracts on feed run Oct 1 to Sept 30. Most have enough old corn silage to last until at least now or the end of the year. Most also have enough hay to last until mid summer. That means the first milk check that will hurt for dairies that buy feed will be the December milk check from November feed.

I know where my break even is and $17 futures is not going to break even. Milk will production will drop, but its going to take 6-9 month again. World milk production has come back on also and the rest of the world can produce milk a lot cheaper that the US. Hang on for a fun ride like 2009.
