You have to ask yourself "self, why does the fed reserve and the treasury dept continue to bless and allow the banks to do this and why has no one been prosecuted?"
answer, because if they don't continue to paper over the problem that the fed reserve and the govt aided and abetted in creating then the derivative bomb explodes and the entire western world financial system is set on fire. Thus nyou will continue to see the powers that be (whether dem or repub) continue to paper the problem as that is what keeps them in power and gets them re-elected.
