Typically the livestock are managed and the hunt is on for enough forage to keep the livestock reasonably well fed.

This is kind of silly wouldn't you say Wilson? I mean really....if the resources had to be present locally before a business was able to set up shop, there would hardly be a single manufacturing enterprise of any kind anywhere.

Certainly not the auto industry. JIT and world wide purchasing initiatives would be toast. Auto plants would become massive cities, driving wages up and creating housing shortages and boom/bust cycles like you could not imagine.

I know of a dairy operation with 10,000 cows. It is simply impossible to own enough land and equipment to support that...even if you could find the manpower.

This is what we do in the west...we do everything to excess and then take a step back when it's too late.

By the way, are you telling me that you mine your own potash?
