Subject: Re: Micronutrients...

Soil tests are not precise on micronutrients. They often don't correlate with tissue tests or repeated soil tests. For some the soil test is many times more effective at finding micronutrients than plants and the ratios of micronutrients affect plant efficacy at extracting them from the soil.

There are many micronutrients offered in dry and liquid form but most tend to be high priced and with low assay so as to not put down enough to do damage if they weren't needed. Many are simply snake oils.

Often the only reliable test is to apply different micronutrients in different strips and look for yield responses after doing tissue tests. Then if your soil is like mine all the standard suggestions tend to be wrong because of high calcium just east of Ames.
