Subject: Size Does Matter

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
Finished beans last night.

Yields were 30 to 60 and averaged 46 which I was happy with given the dry weather we had.

What I noticed with the beans off the gravel bottom ground (30's) and the upland beans was the size of the bean itself.

Before you combined them...........just looking at number of pods, and bean height they looked alike, but the low yield came from the small bean size

I did have beans with a 60# test weight for the first time I remember this year.........unfortunately it was the ones that made 30 bpa.........guess you can pack a lot of BB's in a given space (LoL).
