| I disked up 11 acres of what was a slough back in August and air-seeded some tillage radish into it. I don't know if it was too wet, too cold, too compacted, or too deep, but I'd like to do my best to keep it dry so I can try to farm some of it next year. The radish grew above ground a couple inches and below ground that much too and about as big around as my finger and not much of a tap root either. So I don't know if they did what they were supposed to do.
This little patch is rough, very rough. Would a field cultivator in the spring be sufficient or should I chisel plow, moldboard plow, and/or disk it this fall first, because I don't think the radish is gonna do it's job in this particular field.
What about the radish I planted that did grow properly? It was on PP ground that was chisel plowed last fall and field cultivated this spring, then air seeded in. Should I just let them sit over winter and field cultivate then plant corn? | |
