Northern Idaho
For winter wheat we put down 75-110lb/a (depending on the field) 11-52-0 with the seed in the dry fert box on the drill. Soil test in the spring and put down somewhere near 100lb N and 20lbs S broadcast. Yield goal 85bu/a.

Elsewhere around here (30 miles south, west, and northwest) most people put down about half of their N in the fall and then topdress in the spring but our soil type here within 10 miles of home is timberland soil with a heavy clay subsoil that is prone to waterlogging and N will be lost over the winter more often than not so everybody puts N on in the spring.
