Here is a very interesting article about an Iowa native who farms in the Ukraine. Hired by Morgan Stanley, he learns a lot about farming in the former Soviet block.  Note the constant concern about theft - of everything.

The article also talks about banks getting into agriculture rather than being banks. A good, eye opening read that makes you appreciate farming in the USA. We should not assume farming in other countries is like it is here.  jmho.
