Southeast Colorado | This is a pretty tough call. Dryland crops here basically don't exist. Irrigation, which covers probably 20% of the acres is widely variable. The folks that have good water........maybe half, have pretty good crops all things considered. Maybe 200 bpa+. The other half are various stages of wrecks. I would guess maybe 1/3 has been silaged, 1/3 is making 100 bpa, and the rest will come in anywhere from 30-100 bpa. Any weakness in water, farming practices, or irrigation breakdowns literally wreaked havoc with this crop. What worries me the most is where we go from here. Absolutely NO sub or top moiture at all with NO relief in sight! | |
