Subject: RE: Sudan as a cover crop

King City, Mo
I have platned some sudan after wheat for a couple cuttings of hay. The last cutting i never cut one year because of plenty of hay and it wasn't too tall. Frost got it and it turned brown quick. The field stayed fairly clean but held moisture in the spring.

My father would of been out there disking the stuff into the ground if he would of been alive. I didn't get to it because of other commitments. Can't say that it hurt anything or couldn't see any gain in the beans the next year from that and the area we didn't plant any.
