Western Nebraska
Craziest thing I've ever heard of- talking with a ND bean grower years ago, I don't remember what type of planter they used, seems like it WAS an air delivery system, but they said "if the seed is too dry, we just soak it down in the back of the truck with a garden hose"

Second craziest thing in edible bean production I've ever seen myself- guys cutting beans with pickets by the highway, almost done with the full pivot. I went by on the way to get load of wheat seed cleaned. A couple hours later I come back with the cleaned load of wheat. THE PIVOT IS RUNNING ON THE WINDROWED BEANS. I thought they'd accidentally started the pivot, but later learned that they were "wetting them down" so they wouldn't blow in the wind. Punchline = the weather turned wet right after this, and they for some reason had trouble getting the crop to dry down so they could even get in the field.
