Subject: RE: Seed corn and Frost.....

Northeast, Iowa
Good to know. I was guessing it was between 30 and 32 depending on if I was standing in a valley or on a hilltop. Glad to know about optimum harvest moisture and I am glad mother nature allows me to take it at 25-32%. **** Boy is it nice to have a frost on 9-15-11, good thing S. America production is already at max production acres and all the farmers can afford to pay jet fuel to get it here in time to have "optimum harvest moistures next fall".****

By the way seed testing never ends even if it wasn't frosted, and lots are kept seprate anyway. Oh and funny thing with seed corn, you can freeze it for years at 12% and it will grow fine.

Now back to my original post: I don't think the little bit of frost we had will do much damage "here".

Either way, we will have to agree to disagree, and I will let you know what seed quality is this winter on these lots.
