Subject: Corn conditions. Bean SDS

In SD, MN, and northern Iowa nearly two weeks ago, I saw many fields with spots of totally brown corn, some fired up to the ears, and most of the field edge still green top to bottom. Other fields the shucks were brown and nearly all the stalks and leaves green. These were mostly edge rows, but sometimes I could see into a field on a slope and sometimes there were patches of dry brown corn looked just like patches of SDS.

I'm seeing some SDS in beans from here south to Ames more than here north.
