I think the cob hangs onto the plant better at 25% than it does at 10% moisture. Not that the kernal moisture dictates that, but the stalk dries in the same conditions.

I think us northerners chase a different fine line than you, down there you need to get it out before it falls down, we try to let it dry naturally as much as possible, but need to get it out before the snow flies.
