| Ours is 20' long, has 4x4" legas every 5', outer frame is doubled 2x4s offset with first set into notches in the 4x4 legas & bolted. Top subframe is 2x4s evey 12" with 1/4" steel top. Top has a 4" backer plate welded to it and 4" lip on the front side so we can clamp things to it. Has shelf underneath for storage except for the last 5' on one end which was left open for larger items, currently an apartment size refrig & 2 two drawer file cabinets. Bench is bolted to the shop's columns using 3/8" lag screws. Has 3 sets of electrical strips on the front under the lip, electrical plug ins across the back and an airline aross the ront with couplers located on the ends & two more space 5 ' each direction from the center of the bench.
WE have beat on things on top of it using sledge hammers & haven't hurt it. | |
