Just outside downtown Prairie Hill | Setting up a new grazing system that has an unresolved problem. The pond we are using is @ 14-1500 ft from the power line. Our local REC is working on my bid. Sounded as tho their supplying power to low use installations would be costly. The length of wire/poles needed would be the problem. I am pondering my options while I am waiting on them. They would get me 100 amp service, kinda of their minimum. This is where I need help. I am planning on running a 1 hp water pump, a 1/3hp or less sump pump, and a larger fencer. Primary water supply pump (1 hp) will pull @ 11 amps, the sump pump would need say 4, fencer nearly nothing--say 1...total 15-16 amps. If you add some to start the motors, I am thinking @ 30 amp service will do this deal. Do you folks agree with this thinking and how big a wire would I need to bury to satisfy my needs? I am getting conflicting views from my electrician and the REC guys. Thanks for your thoughts.... |
