Subject: RE: MN Corn...Good, Bad, & Ugly

NW Minnesota

We're 100 miles or so north of Bagley yet.  We had Registered Black Angus and sold some thru Bagley, but the TB testing and getting older was taking the fun out of it.  This is my forth crop of corn, the first two could have gone silage or grain when I planted them, and I got grain.  The second two were for grain.  Not too many of us trying it up here, but it works sometimes.  I don't know how the guys in Manitoba can do corn, I've seen it up by Steinback so I know they do, thinking if they can do it further north...well...might as well try.  Got rolling sand hills and nothing else wants to grow very good on them but the corn works.  Was my best paying crop last year at 130 bu.
