Not sure I follow your logic. If we can plant soybeans into standing residue just fine, why would we want to chop them or apply N thats going to wash away down to the gulf of mexico? Sounds like your wanting to spend money unnecessarily. What research do you have to show it helps? How much did it cost to make the difference?

what R.W. is pointing out is the soil science of the application, or total process. Feeding soil bacterial and residual Nitrogen. Balancing the Carbon to Nitrogen Ratio and Feeding and Nurchering ones soils Aerobic and Anaerobic soil Life forms, and the Nitrogen fixing bacteria to stimulate and feed a Healthy S.B. plant Physiology.

  Dan  (  If getting through with a planter in the spring is 100% of your only concern.  Then You are 100% correct Dan  )

 

But if you want to grow 10 to 20 Bu. more Soybeans after a good Corn Crop. then you well need to re read and Understand what R.W. is visiting about.
