Subject: shallow rooted beans

east central ND
With all the flooding, rain and too much water this year, I did not think we would see any crops getting short on water. Well, the soybeans are starting to wilt on some high spots and we are just able to get the digger through the mud on a coulple of pot holes on the prevent plant ground not far away. Their is plenty of subsoil moisture, but the beans are starting to struggle to get it. Corn is fine. Have had a bunch of 80 - 85 degree days lately with a nice breeze. No rain the last couple of weeks, it has been some downpours 20 miles south and 20 miles north. I hate to say it, but a nice 1/2 to 3/4 inch would be nice. And spraying for aphids 2nd time.
