Subject: Hail damage on corn

Had a hailstorm come through Friday night. I have about 80 acres of corn thats cut in half. Maybe 25% ears are on the ground. I esimated it at 150 bu./acre.I was thinking about running our calves on it after they are weaned in October. We've had 3 inches of rain since the hail. Will it be rotten by then and what about aflatoxin, founder? We could wean the calves earlier i guess. Will young cattle gain very well on ear corn? These will probably weigh between 500 and 700 lbs. I'd like to make the most of this situation. Thanks
