Morris, IL | I'd sure wait till 50 or below but even then i don't like fall NH3. In your situation it's a tough decision, with the strip till, getting all fertilizer done and out of the way, don't have to sweat sidedressing. We are spring NH3 guys for conventional till ground but we don't know what to do with the strips i'd like to try this fall. A relative of mine has strip tilled for 20 years or so with a DMI bar. One year they ran two rigs, one with Fall NH3 and one they sidedressed NH3 and they never have done fall NH3 since. And they waited till there was snow falling. I know what you mean by 50-froze in short order, happens around here too or it will warm up again, any mans guess. For only 50 actual i would be looking at putting some UAN at planting but thats just me, i don't mind slowing the planter a little if i can save a few trips. | |
