Subject: RE: Pictures from NW MO hail wind

There was also a lot of hail damage in NE Kansas on the 19th. There was golf ball size hail and really strong winds. If you look around, the north side of everyone's houses are ruined. My house and my mom's rental house had about 1/2 the windows on the North side knocked out. Some were new double-pane windows.

The crops are pretty much zero. There is a band probably three miles wide and 15-20 miles long. I would say around 50,000 acres are ruined. There are some small farmers here that had their entire crop wiped out, and I think they do not have it insured.

Had a patch of beans by my house (80 ac) that I thought could be 50 plus bu/ac. Had an airplane spray on Headline and an insecticide. Now they are about a foot tall, and who knows how they will turn out. Got lucky with the corn, though. 80 acre patch of corn, and the stalk is broke off above the ear, although maybe 25% of the ears are on the ground.
