My son picked some cobs on a gravel type soil that usally dryes out a bit, but we have had the rain needed to keep it all green and even. The cobs he picked looked big till the husk came of 3inches of the tip is or has aborted the kernals. Had to be the heet we had right when it pollinated. I ll see if we can get some pics
