Perhaps a temporary problem with the ISP?
Just monitor it for now - may not happen again.
I've been impressed with my netgear router's ability to maintain the connection for weeks, and automatically reconnect after the phone line had been out and the power off.
You can right click your connection and 'repair' it - this sometimes resolves problems.
