Most lawn care companies will tell you the best way to kill crab grass is to fertilize your lawn. When the fertility gets low the crab grass thrives and the regular grass gets crowded out. Fertilize the heck out of it and the good grass will grow and choke out the crab grass. Sounds crazy but it works.
