Subject: a few pics of sunflowers and soybeans at the Allison Farm

Hello folks,

We had a great turnout for the field day this past Wednesday (150+) and Steve Groff gave an excellent keynote presentation. Unfortunately it was not recorded in entirety but we are working on assembling and editing the video that was recorded and should have something on-line soon.

The attached pics were taken yesterday 2 days after the field day.

pics 1-3 show sunflowers (Blue River Hybrids "Sierra") planted on July 7.

pic 4 shows soybeans (Blue River Hybrids 34A7) that were drilled into standing cereal rye and then rolled.
Target seeding population was 220,000/ac. No hand weeding has been done. The difference in weed pressure between the conventional 30" row beans on either side (rotary hoed once and cultivated twice) and the NT beans is quite dramatic.
