We left Washington Co. Thursday morning after 1.1 inch rain. Came home Sunday evening and had another 2 inches in guage. Went from Hays to Hutchinson and could hardly believe how dry things looked.The corn from the road seemed well beyond hope and the grass was as brown as the bare earth. Don't know how the farmers there will make it through the winter. We've had a lot of heat that may have done some damage but we better not complain.
