North central, IA
Plowboy - I have never dealt with FCS, although I have visited with them a time or two in the last 10ish years. My sense from those meetings, and from what I have heard from others who do business with them, is they have a tendency to want to manage your business. Of course this may vary a lot from location to location, and its probably more hearsay than not but I don't really need my lender to "help" me choose what level of crop insurance to buy (from them by the way).

How are the crops in your part of Kansas? We were in Hesston last week and the corn there is absolutely shot. We hear people up here talking about a 'crop failure' and the corn 'burning up' but we don't see anything like thousands upon thousands of acres that will actually yield nothing. It was rather eye-opening to this corn-belt farmer.
