| Given that you plan on replacing the boom. I would check the following items on the frame.
Check the oil in the finial drives, we chainge ours every year,a change in color or volume is a indication a seal is out.
Check the welds especially on the axles, ours has been trussed in key locations which stopped a lot of cracks and breaks.
The jd motor is great and should last a long time if it has been taken care of.
