statistics say an average sized ear is 16 around by 35-40 long so 16x40 would be 640 kernels/ear. so if 30 kernels is taken off every ear that would be 30/640=4.6875%. so then theoretically national yield would shrink 4.6875% or 7.5 bushels on a STARTING national average of 160. Now i said starting national average so dont anyone flame up about how its only 145 or 155.
