As a seed rep for an independent seed company I'd like to believe we offer something that your big companies don't. We hand pick our genetics for our territory, not for a couple of states. We take the time to pick out the right hybrids for specific farms. In my area Dekalb's 43-27 is king. But believe it or not there is hard data out there that shows there is better options depending on your specific piece of ground. I'd also like to think that growers appreciate the time a rep spends with them talking about their operation. That's how we can get you the best seed for your situation. So when your rep stops out this fall make sure you tell him you'd like to go over soil maps etc with him to find the best options for the upcoming planting year.
