very simple. I will try to get a pic of mine and email to someone that post pics sometime. I like them about 8 feet long. You will have a 2x4 on the bottom and one on the top and I believe I make mine about 4 feet tall. I will have to measure to see how far apart I put the vertical 2x4s for the calf openings. I also put another horizontal 2x4 on the top to adjust the height for the calves. I like to screw them together and they hold alot better. You just put that in your hole and they will learn to go through it. Sometimes I will put a little hay inside the gate so they will start sticking their neck in and if one ever starts they will catch on pretty fast.
