| After an entire week of heat we had to get a good blast last night of 60-70mph winds, and sha-zam... greensnap. I guess I'll be in mourning for a day or two after getting the top knocked off of yields of corn with INCREDIBLE potential. Coulda, shoulda been a blockbuster year. Don't have an official count, but I've probably lost 20%, and my crop scout was in a field this morning with close to 40%. It must be very widespread because I've got reports of it down my Kearney, NE over to Ankeny, IA, so at least I'm not alone in my misery, but I guess that's farming. You take what nature gives you, and gotta give when nature takes back. | |
