Central Florida
The beetles do start around the outside of the field and spraying brown silks won't change pollination. Spraying green silks and as well as tassels can prevent the clipping and poor polination. Killing the beetles not only prevent pollination issues, it also prevents grub issues in the same field. These white grubs will feed starting in September and will start again next spring until the pupate out in June-July as adults.
