.
More surgeries, only 1 dose of I131 for thyroid cancer. Husband went through 30 days of radiation for prostate cancer. He said there was not discomfort, but more difficulty urinating. He also went through numerous rounds of various chemotherapies for over 2 years. The first chemo made him deathly sick, and only because the insurance company in their wisdom decided he could not get a prescription for a strong anti-nausea drug. Ended up in the ER, where they gave him the drug anyway! He was extremely fortunate as well as tough, as side effects were generally minimal. One thing we learned is ask the nurses about tips on making things go a little easier. They seem to have a whole bag of tricks that can help out.
