Depending on the year and location, it could do a lot of good. Where are you located? Here, the pioneer guys give a general recommendation of 80% on by tassel. Last year, the fields that put it on late made 20+ bushels more than those that put it on early since there was some nitrogen lose early. If you're talking too far past pollinated, you might not gain much.
