Over the winter, our firm developed a team blog for all of Mississippi State's rowcrop and rice Extension folks to post advisories and also to archive recs, variety trial info and crop guidelines.

After that launch, we were asked to develop a similar team blog for Extension specialists in Arkansas, which we did. Here's the link to that one:

We are currently developing a similar team blog for a state in the Southeast.

We've partly taken the approach that anyone in the field with a notebook or pad computer will essentially have instant access to both the current bulletins and advisories, plus backup info. And by going with a team blog, farmers and crop advisors only have to remember one URL. Plus, with more people posting to it, there usually are new items turning up. We also optimized the sites for cell phones, although some of the archived info will be in PDF files, which work better on a notebook pad or desktop.
