167,000 cfs is the maximum that can be released through the stilling basin gates and the turbines combined. Anything above that, is either going over or through the emergency spillway gates.

If 200,000 cfs happens Ft. Pierre and lower Pierre is history! It would close Highway 83, and probably take out the rail and Highway 83 bridge IMO. Saw a big bucket truck doing some sort of work or inspection on the highway bridge today. Just like the one a couple of years ago when they did major repairs to the bridge. Really an eerie feeling to be in Ft. Pierre today, especially with all the uncertainty and rain coming down.
