Subject: RE: 1020 Header bottom?

Goff, Kansas (Nemaha County) USA
Bought a 20' 1020 a few years ago that needed the center section of the front platform was very easy to put in just some 1/4" bolts and clips for the most part. I am guessing you are talking about the rear portion of the trough though I believe it is still easiest to remove after taking out the front platforms if you are pulling it out. Sticking a formed sheet in would work too you might even think about using thin poly sheeting like used in upright silo chutes wanna say they are like 1/8" or less thick maybe? Would still guess they would work best pulling your front platform plates out then laying them on top so feeds over nice, might have to add spacers under the clips so they don't over bend and not hold tight if that makes sense. Sure there are poly kits out there but could make your own too with a little time and either some elevator bolts with the oversized flat head or maybe even some fender washers. One more note, if you do make your own drill the hole in the plastic oversized to allow for expansion and contraction of the plastic in diff temps and if you do add steel or plastic you will want to check your clearance and adjust your auger height accordingly. Good luck!
