I used to think that fluid milk consumption was somewere around 60-70% of total milk produced. When the milk price went down the tubes a few years back, I had my eyes opened on that figure. I think I was told fluid milk consumption is actually somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-35% ( someone can correct that figure if you have a more accurate one). Which leads me to the point that maybe having kids eat cheese, etc, is just as good a way to get their daily dairy consumption - and all the nutrients that go with it. |
