Subject: Re: 4440 wheel settings for sprayer

I'm no expert, but maybe this will help:
We are pulling a 1200 gal pull type with our 4440. Tongue weight fully loaded according to the manual is something like 7000 lbs. Our Deere service mgr. said no problem to run it on the outside duals only to get it to 120" (to match sprayer). The only caveat was that the factory steel wheels would break, but we are fine since we have Unverferths. I asked about axles & bearings, and he said that was not a concern.

The tractor is built to run 90", and 300 gal of sol'n is under 3000 lbs. You aren't even close to pushing the limits of the tractor, IMO.
