“In northeast and central North Dakota, 20% of the intended corn and 10-15% of intended beans did not get in. Near Devil’s Lake and Maddock, quite a few guys decided to “hang ‘er up” as soon as the insurance deadline hit.”

Not my words, this was from a seed dealer. Not a huge corn area, but it all adds up this year in a growing season where we were told there is no room for error. I myself had about 500 acres that I put to beans when it got too late. Talked to a buyer today and he is anticpiating 70% of the corn was in the ground that was intended as of a week ago. Doesn't make what he said right but was his thoughts.

If this is part of the 1.7 million acres that the usda cut off I don't know, but these are the facts that I know. Perhaps others who planted more corn than they thought could chime in and we can get a little bit better handle on the real situation.
