Pretty openended depending on your soil type, hills, and depth. The moldboard tips will cover more trash. I pull mine with 215 hp MFD, not very deep and get along fine. One pass in the fall, field cultivate in the spring and plant, machine does a nice job if the combine chews the stalks up some. If not may need another pass with a disk or stalk chopper.
