Statesville, NC | Many of the magnetos did not have the ground post. Proper procedure was to turn off the gas. You can also set the carburetor/governor linkage where it will idle with a slight forward movement of the throttle, but pulled back hard would completely close the throttle and shut the engine off. The throttle idle screw goes against a short stiff spring to accomplish this. | |
