We just received notification yesterday that memorial services are to be held 21 June for a 22yr old Army Air Corp Staff Sergeant from Eastern Iowa who disappeared between German and Soviet lines on 22 March 1945.   His remains, along with those of several Russian and German soldiers, were found in Hungary in 2004.  It's taken that long to positively identify the remains and negotiate with the Hungarian and Russian governments for the return to U.S. soil.   He is survived by a daughter, 4 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
